We decided not to buy our return tix til that night which was initially considered a bad idea since the only ones left were 12:30 am and 7 am. We didn’t gamble much – eug lost $1500HK – oh well. After the concert we headed over to a club called sky 21. I woulda lasted longer if it were hip-hop, but dancing is dancing!
Around 3 am, eug, sarah and I headed to the pier to go on standby. We ended up sharing a cab with an older white australian guy who is a big-time slots machine guy. forget what he did exactly, but turned out he and sarah, who's from australia, knew someone in common. what a small world fer reals. anyways, we got to the pier only to find out that the return tix the venetian sold us were non-exchangeable! Luckily there was a scalper nearby and we were able to work out a deal with him. with 40 mins til the 4 am ferry, we headed over the .5 mile-long bridge in search of some food. We chowed down on our MSG-laden noodle soup with 15 mins to scurry back across the bridge in anticipation of whether or not we were sold scam tix. I guess we weren't because within minutes we were knocked out on the way back to HK. We finally made it to our beds around 6:30 am.
It was a great night. Lotsa just roaming around and going with the flow. It was a good thing that we got stuck with 7 am tix. Oh, to feel young and carefree.
i didn’t take too many pics and the ones from the concert were just not working out - but here they are…
