a picture a day

so upon eug's suggestion that i make my blog more than just a thing to keep my loved ones in the loop with my life, i thought perhaps i could take at least one photo a day and post it, whether or not i actually write anything. not so interesting on a day to day basis, but just maybe in ten years time, it will provide some sort of interesting story. or not.

these photos are from yesterday...the first is of james, a creative at ogilvy...and the second one is of alex and jonathan, also creatives, who sit across from me and who are, unfortunately, leaving ogilvy in a month. hopefully they will find a way to stay in HK.

the photos below are from today. that's wei ling - she apparently never takes pictures. and doesn't own photo albums. although...her facebook profile would suggest otherwise (doh! just remembered she got upset at some guy for writing about her in his blog - sorry wei ling!) she also didn't add me to facebook until a month later, because she thought my name said mei lin (rather than mel lin) and because she said that i looked chubbier in my profile pic and didn't recognize me. needless to say, that photo is no more.

the next photo is the view of the restaurants across the street from our apt. brown's has ok brunch. and the place next to it makes yummy congee and rice plates, though i don't even know what it's called. for those of you who know eug, you know we go there quite often. it is after all across the street. and it's good. the few times i've successfully convinced him to go elsewhere in the hood, the food is always a let down. something he doesn't fail to rub in my face. but, i would probably do the same.

the last photo is also from today. and as i write this very sentence, the two food items (a mini hotdog bun - i loved them in ny, and i love them still in HK- and a mini chicken pie) are mere crumbs. and the wine glass needs refilling. eug is off to some dinner with a partner from his co. so i'm fending for myself. pretty pathetic effort, yes. but, i did have some great shanghai food today which makes it ok that i'm eating crap for din din. hopefully, my mom has deleted the email with the link to this blog.
