I just finished checking out the Missbehave Newsflash: Boys! Boys! Boys! which took me on a flashback. The roots to all my boy crushes….CHRISTIAN SLATER. Couple years ago, I blogged about the movie Gleaming the Cube (where my love for skater boys officially blossomed) here on Missbehave. Christian Slater played a HOT skater looking for justice for his step brother’s death. Girls! I’m thinking some of you weren’t even born when this movie came out. If you haven’t watched it yet, GO RENT IT STAT. After you have watched Gleaming the Cube, then you can move on to this next movie. Pump Up the Volume.
Remember how during the teen years most of us went through some awkward stage where we couldn’t relate to your parents nor your school mates? Where we were rebelling against something? Trying to break out and find our true self? Christian Slater plays a teenager, new to town, loner in school who has a radio system set up at home where expresses his teen angst on an unauthorized radio frequency at night. Nobody knows who the radio host is, but slowly starts relating to him.
I haven’t watched this movie since I was in my late teens. I remember relating to it back then. It’s just a must watch Slater movie…after Gleaming the Cube.
