went to seoul again this past weekend to see eug. we discovered a cool neighborhood (whose name i've forgotten) with cute boutiques, great architecture, and lots of little galleries. so much cooler than anything you'd find here in HK. booooooo HK. one of the galleries we checked out is called
arario. they had this bad-ass exhibition called "on air." the first room you step into is setup like a news editing studio with small screens on the wall. each screen displayed news footage of some sort - war, national geographic, landing on the moon, etc. it is all obviously faked, with toy planes, soldiers, animals etc. each theme has some sort of reference to the real and sometimes muddled or exaggerated news. basically a commentary on how you can't really trust everything you see on the news. then you walk into the next and much bigger room where there are mini installations showing how each piece was shot (all in real-time)...it was way cool. we weren't allowed to take photos but below are a few from the
